Doja – real name Amalia Dlamini – called the police and filed a complaint, which triggered a formal investigation.

The outlet reported that the unnamed male fan lives outside of the state of California, where Doja resides.

It happened in March and she took to Twitter to write that she was “quitting” music.

At the time, she changed her name to “I quit” on the platform and tweeted, “This isn’t for me so I’m out. Take care of yourselves.’

In a since-deleted post from the time, she noted, “There was a storm in Paraguay, the show was cancelled.

“When I left the next morning, nobody was waiting for me outside the hotel,” she added, hinting that she expected her fans to be there.

Days later, she reappeared on the app to apologize and change her mindset as she reflected on her success and privilege.

“I can travel, I can eat well, I can meet new people, I can smile, I can create memories I’ve dreamed of,” she typed.

The sometimes controversial entertainer continued, “I can laugh, I can support my family and friends, I can learn about the world and I can give back all because of you.”
