Former US President Donald Trump used the final hours of 2022 to attack those he believes are “destroying” America.
The remarks came as passionate posts on the alt-tech media platform Truth Social, created by the former president in October 2021, and have been reposted and commented on thousands of times to date.
He wishes a Happy New Year to those who “love and cherish” the United States while name-checking Mitch McConnell, his wife Elaine Chao, and Nancy Pelosi in a separate post.
The former president was booted from Twitter in January 2021 and reinstated in November 2022 after Chief Twit Elon Musk’s controversial $44 billion takeover.

As millions prepare to ring in the New Year, either from their homes or at celebrations across the country, former US President Donald Trump has used the final hours of 2022 to attack those he believes are “destroy” America.

Trump and former first lady Melania Trump arrived at the dining room for a New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach
“HAPPY NEW YEARS to all the radical Left Democrats, Marxist maniacs, China loving Coco Chow and her obedient husband Mitch, and the clueless RINOS who are working so hard to DESTROY our once great country,” the post reads.
Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump celebrated the New Year at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
A month before the midterm elections, Trump launched a direct attack on McConnell and Chao.
He mocked McConnell, saying on his social media platform that the Kentucky Republican had a “death wish” for supporting “Democrat-sponsored bills.”
Trump also took the opportunity to mock McConnell’s wife – who was born in Taiwan and served as Trump’s Secretary of Transportation – calling her McConnell’s “China loving wife, Coco Chow!”.
The first post had been widely criticized as racist, but the former US president again referred to Chao in this way in his New Year’s post.
He goes on to disparage “unsuspecting RINOS,” a term that refers to “Republicans in name only,” before promising his supporters that 2023 could see a Trump-era renaissance.

“More importantly, Happy New Year to the incredible, brave, and strong American patriots who built, loved, and cherished America,” the post continues.
“The TRUE leaders of our country will always remain FAITHFUL and LOYAL to you. The US will be back, bigger, better and stronger than ever. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!’
In a separate post for Truth Social, Trump describes Democrat-run cities as akin to “war zones.”
“They are more dangerous than most war zones,” he said.
“The USA is a nation in decline and the Democrats will never fix it – but I will bring our once great nation AGAIN from the abyss and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Just minutes before posting about what he considers his legacy at the White House.
“This is the year that Nancy Pelosi became the first woman to lose the House of Representatives twice in her life, losing two highly partisan and ill-conceived impeachment hoaxes to a President who has built the best economy, without inflation, energy independence, and the safest southern border in the world history of our country,” he wrote.
“Pelosi also did not follow my recommendation to provide 10,000 to 20,000 troops to protect DC from the January 6 voter fraud protest.
