The video shows the officer running up the driveway of the man’s home toward the red car.

He quickly grabs the wheel arch and tries to lift the vehicle to free the man, while another officer and another man also help free him.

“Let’s try to get rid of this, okay?” One officer tells the other in the video before calling a bystander for help. “Someone got him out!”

At the end of the video, the man can be heard telling officers: “He has a pulse.”

In a statement, police said, “On October 30, 2023, at 5:47 p.m., Cape Coral Police Department officers were dispatched to retrieve a man who was trapped under his car.”

“While the man was working on his car, the jack failed and the car fell on top of him.
