EastEnders: Phil Mitchell cheats on Kat Slater with a VERY unexpected character in a shocking twist

EastEnders fans were shocked when Phil Mitchell cheated on his bride-to-be Kat Slater with none other than Emma Harding in Tuesday’s episode.

Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Phil (Steve McFadden) get into an argument when she finds out her fiancé has been keeping her ex Alfie Moon’s cancer scare a secret.

Things went sour between the couple when a furious Kat insisted there was nothing going on between her and Alfie (Shane Richie) and appeared unwilling to forgive Phil.

But Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) then gave her advice to both Phil and Kat as she tried to reunite the feuding couple, after which Kat set out to reconcile with Phil.

However, as she rushed to put things right, Phil experienced a very passionate moment with Emma (Patsy Kensit) in the Peggy’s office, leading to a shocking twist.

In response to the cheating scandal, viewers were quick to take to Twitter to express their anger at Phil’s decision, as they admitted the scene left them “sickened”.

Other fans also called for Kat to tie the knot with Alfie instead of Phil, as they called for a reconciliation with the exes following Phil’s shocking betrayal.

One wrote: “Who gave Phil the boldness?”, while another tweeted: “I feel sick, Phil and Emma are mean, EastEnders, this won’t work.”

A third said: “Yes Phil!!!! You go with your bad self! Now we can get what we all want and the world will be right again.’

And another argued: “I hope Kat marries Alfie instead of Phil!”

The drama began in Tuesday’s episode as the fallout from Kat and Phil’s row unfolded after he failed to tell her that Alfie had a cancer scare.

Kat felt betrayed because he had kept the news to her and the couple got into an argument when she told her partner she had to be there to support Alfie.

Phil brought Kat a box of chocolates as a peace offering while trying to patch things up on Sharon’s advice, but Kat remained angry with him.

Oh no! In response to the cheating scandal, viewers were quick to take to Twitter to express anger at Phil’s decision as they admitted the scene made them “sick”.

Phil insisted he understood Kat’s relationship with Alfie and knew she didn’t want him to be alone, but Kat insisted she had to be the one to support her ex.

She argued: “It has nothing to do with him being alone, I had to be with him!” Not you, not anyone! Me! I was always there for you, I risked my safety and that of my boys for you because I was stupid enough to love you.’

Phil then insisted he never said there was anything going on between her and Alfie, before Kat hit back: “I’ve never cheated on you, Phil.”

She continued: “You see something good and you get out your wrecking ball.” “I deserve better and if you let me, you will too,” before Phil walked out dejected.

In various scenes, Lola Pearce’s estranged mother Emma was seen trying to defend her granddaughter Lexi by texting her and telling her how worried she was about the child.

But when Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) told her he would never be a part of his daughter Lexi’s life, she went to Peggy’s for a drink where she met Phil.

She told him, “I just got an earful from your son, apparently I don’t deserve to be in Lexi’s life.”

Emma then said to Phil, “Should I ignore what she wants because it suits someone else?” Don’t tell me you’ve never screwed Phil over. Never did the wrong thing because I thought it was right.’

He replied, “I never said I was perfect, did I?”

Phil then told her that she had to leave, before talking about his ex-wives and saying that he doesn’t think about other people in a tense moment.

Kat was then seen talking to Sharon, who urged her to make things right with Phil before it was too late.

Sharon said: “Don’t take your fear out on Phil, he’s doing his best.” “Don’t throw away what you’ve got, Kat, and end up back on the shelf like me.”

However, when Kat stormed out to reconcile with Phil, he was shown having a heated argument with Emma in Peggy’s office while cheating on his fiancée.

But will Kat find out about his shocking betrayal and how will she react? Will their wedding day still happen?
