EastEnders star James Bye and wife Victoria confirm they are expecting their fourth child

EastEnders star James Bye and his wife Victoria have confirmed they will welcome their fourth child later this year after struggling to conceive for more than three years.

The happy couple confirmed the news on Monday night, admitting they found out about the pregnancy while James was in the middle of a rigorous training regimen for the twentieth series of Strictly Come Dancing.

James, 38, and Victoria, 40, who accompanied their post with an ultrasound of the unborn baby, had previously suffered a series of miscarriages while trying to expand their family.

The couple, already parents to sons Edward, eight, Louis, six, and Hugo, three, were dealt another blow when Victoria struggled with endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other parts of the body. including ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Under the caption, shared on their mutual Instagram account, Victoria wrote, “So…we’ve been keeping a little secret…Not only are we welcoming in the new year 2023…I can’t believe I’m saying it. But we welcome another little one and we are overjoyed.

“We never thought it would happen. We always wanted a big family, but after all my endometriosis battles…heartbreaking miscarriages, visits to fertility doctors & 3 years of ovulation testing & disappointment – we had honestly given up.

She added: “I remember thinking correctly. Enough. I collected the pram and baby things and gave them all away. We both knew it couldn’t go on like this, the constant hope.

“And we were okay, we had accepted how lucky we already were and so we moved on with life. And life went crazy.”

Victoria also poked fun at the Strictly Come Dancing curse by admitting the child was conceived while James was rehearsing for the show.

She wrote: “I started training for my marathon, we started planning our vow renewal abroad, James started the intense Strictly regimen… all wrapped up with a big 40th birthday bonanza (I just milked it a bit ).

Former EastEnders actor James, who has played the character of Martin Fowler since 2014, previously insisted nothing would come between him and Victoria as the couple planned to renew their vows after originally wed in 2012.

He told the Mirror: “It didn’t really come for us. It’s one of those things that’s connected to the show, but I really don’t see it as a part of it.

The actor also admitted that it was actually Victoria who encouraged him to say “yes” to the show after he was asked to perform.

He added: “I’m a big family man and both Victoria and I pride ourselves on always putting our family first, so I wanted to speak to her first before I even thought about it.”
