Either Donald Trump or Bust: If New Hampshire Republicans could pick their dream president from among everyone alive, they would overwhelmingly choose the 2024 frontrunner BUT three percent choose RONALD REAGAN

It is official. The Republican Party is Donald Trump’s party, not Ronald Reagan’s.
Asked to pick their dream president from among anyone alive, more than a third of New Hampshire’s GOP primary voters voted for the New York real estate developer-turned-politician.
He easily beats the field of 2024 candidates as well as wildcards like Elon Musk or previous candidates like Senator Mitt Romney, the 2012 candidate.
He even beats Ronald Reagan, often referred to by conservatives as the greatest president of all time. Even though he’s been dead for almost 20 years, he shouldn’t have noted the results.
It’s perhaps not surprising, then, that Trump’s 35 percent share of the vote is 10 times that of the leader credited with winning the Cold War and lending his name to a brand of low-tax, small-state economy that has dominated his party for generations.

Only 3 percent of New Hampshire Republicans said Ronald Reagan would be their dream president. In contrast, around 35 percent opted for former President Donald Trump
The results come from a new poll for DailyMail.com examining the state of the primary in New Hampshire, one of the crucial early states.
It has been noted that Trump remains the clear frontrunner even as his share of support has dwindled in an increasingly dense field.
“The New Hampshire GOP vote is right on the Trump train,” said James Johnson of JL Partners, which conducted the poll.
“Given that anyone in the world has a choice to be president, they stick with Donald Trump.” And while they rate DeSantis top on a variety of issues, they vote for Trump for the presidential nomination.
“That doesn’t mean Trump is unbeatable, but without a single challenger he’s the clear favorite for the nomination.”
DeSantis came second in voters’ dream ballot. But Reagan, often considered one of the most important Republican presidents of all time, only manages seventh place.
That puts him behind New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, who undoubtedly benefits from home field advantage at six percent but ruled himself out of a presidential election in 2024.
Two candidates for 2024 are tied with Reagan at three percent. Anti-woke entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott have both seen their campaigns gain momentum over the past month, and they are level with former nominee Sen. Mitt Romney.

A word cloud of the results shows Trump’s dominance. But look closely and there are some stars on stage and screen, including an ineligible Brit, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones

Some respondents even picked Taylor Swift and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took second place in the poll, while Gov. Chris Sununu finished third, benefiting from home field advantage in the New Hampshire poll
Then there are a number of wildcards in the form of former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, former Democrat-turned-pin-up favorite of the far right, Tulsi Gabbard, and billionaire Elon Musk, arch-libertarian and liberal agitator.
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley also joins them with two percent.
Liberal comedian Jon Stewart joins the list at one percent, as does former Secretary of State Colin Powell and Mike Pompeo, who excluded himself from a 2024 candidacy.
Then there are a few celebrities who score less than one percent: singer Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger (who is disqualified from the White House on the grounds that he is British), actor Clint Eastwood (who at least served as mayor) and fellow filmmaker Dwayne Johnson.
The survey for DailyMail.com was conducted from July 13-20 and has an error rate of 3.9 percent. 591 registered Republicans and others planning to run for a primary were polled.

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are also being named dream presidents by Republican voters in New Hampshire as both campaigns gain ground

Our new poll shows the state of the Republican primary in New Hampshire. The support rate for the two frontrunners shrank while others gained momentum
Overall, Trump has been noted as losing ground with Republicans in New Hampshire since April. He won the support of 42 percent of respondents, up from 51 percent.
And the results mean more bad news for Ron DeSantis’ failed campaign.
Although it remains in second place, it has fallen from 18 percent in April to 15 percent now.
The poll also offers insight into who Republican voters in the state would like to see run for vice president.
Scott leads with 19 percent, ahead of Trump supporter Kari Lake at 16, Haley at 15 and Ramaswamy at 13 percent.
However, Ramaswamy leads the field when the question is only asked of Trump supporters, overtaking Lake, who came first when the question was last asked in April.
