Elon Musk’s feuding baby mamas, Grimes and Shivon Zilis, are burying the hatchet after the singer accused the billionaire of stopping her from seeing her children

Elon Musk’s mother of three, Grimes, has called a truce between herself and one of the billionaire’s other baby mamas after her tweet last week sparked speculation about power struggles in the Musk household.

Grimes – real name Claire Boucher – last week accused the SpaceX founder of preventing her from seeing her son and Neuralink director Shivon Zilis – mother of two of Musk’s children – of blocking her on social media .

However, in a tweet on Sunday evening, Grimes appeared to put all that behind her, saying she was “excited to become friends” with Zilis, 37, and let her “children grow up together.”

Zilis, mother of the recently pictured twins, then called Grimes a “toughass” and said their long conversation to clear the air was “insanely overdue.”

Grimes said she called for “defusing the narrative” that she set ablaze last week when she tweeted Musk biographer Walter Isaacson asking him to forward a message to Zilis.

“I had never been allowed to see a photo of these children until that moment, even though the situation completely tore my family apart,” she wrote at the time.

The details were included in Isaacson’s upcoming Musk biography, which includes several revelations about one of the world’s richest men.

Grimes, a futuristic singer who dated Musk on and off for three and a half years, appears to have called a truce over his allegations.

She added in her Sunday post that she was “totally forgiven.”[n] the situation” and that “women are so often pitted against each other” – an outcome that she wants to avoid with Zilis.

“I finally spoke to Shivon in detail, which was long overdue.” That wasn’t her fault, please don’t be mad at her! “We respect each other very much and look forward to becoming friends and letting the children grow up together,” Grimes wrote in a long tweet.

“I sincerely apologize for answering Walter like that. As you can imagine, this was a very gut reaction to something that was very difficult for me. Communication about the twins hasn’t gone particularly well in the past, but now I completely understand what happened and completely forgive the situation.

“In speaking with Shivon, it’s clear that she is a great person and we both want the best for our children,” she wrote.

The love seems to be mutual, as Zilis quickly responded, “It all worked out for the best in the end!” Thank you for taking the time to truly connect and understand each other. I’m so glad we had such a wonderful conversation, it was incredibly overdue.

“You’re a total badass and I respect you a lot too. ‘Can’t wait for my kid to play and congrats on baby Tau too!’ refers to Grimes and Musk’s recently revealed third child together, a boy named Techno “Tau” Mechanicus.

It was already known that Musk, 52, had two children with the 35-year-old singer: three-year-old son X Æ A-12, who goes by “X” (with him above), and one-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, loving “Y” before it was announced last week that the former couple welcomed a third bundle of joy, Techno “Tau” Mechanicus

Grimes also pointed to the newest member of her family, writing, “I wish I could show you how cute little Techno is, but my priority is keeping my babies out of the public eye. Please respect that at this time.”

The existence of the newest baby was revealed in the New York Times review of Isaacson’s Musk biography earlier this week. It is not clear how old Tau is.

It’s also not entirely clear what steps were taken to resolve Grimes’ other complaint that Musk didn’t allow her to see her son – an allegation that could refer to either X or Tau.

Musk’s complicated personal life included three marriages and three divorces, including two each to the same woman, as well as eight children from two long-term romances and the twins with Zilis, whom they conceived through in vitro fertilization.

Elon began dating Grimes in April 2018. The eccentric couple made headlines when they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala the following month.

Amid a series of breakups and reconnections, the couple welcomed their first son, “X AE A-XII,” in May 2020.

Their second child Exa Dark Sideræl, whose name is Y, was born through a surrogate mother in December 2021.

Musk’s other children are the result of his union with his first ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson.

In 2000 he married Justine Wilson. Their first son, Nevada, tragically died at ten weeks old in 2002. The couple then welcomed twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004.

Xavier – now 19 – has now changed his gender to female. Her name is Vivian and she has given up her father’s famous surname – after telling a court she no longer wants to be related to him “in any way”.

Zilis, who was born in Ontario, Canada, met Musk through OpenAI, the nonprofit artificial intelligence research and deployment organization that Musk co-founded in 2015, Insider reported.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Zilis was on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the venture capital category in 2015 and joined Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink in 2017 as director of operations and special projects.

She studied economics and philosophy at Yale, where she was also a goalkeeper on the women’s ice hockey team.

Musk and Zilis filed a petition to change the twins’ names in April last year to “preserve their father’s last name and include their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,” court documents said.

Isaacson wrote that Zilis has been Musk’s “intellectual companion in artificial intelligence since the founding of OpenAI.”

The photo of Musk, Zilis and the twins posted by Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson was taken at Zilis’ home in Austin, Texas, according to an excerpt from the biography published in Time.

Not much is known about the twins that Musk and Zilis share. The image posted by Isaacson is the first public image shared of them, and their names, Strider and Azure, were only revealed last week.
