And it turns out the 29-year-old singer had had a crush on the 31-year-old supermodel for quite some time, even calling her his celebrity crush in a 2014 interview.

But the feelings were clearly not mutual in 2016, when Emily turned down calls to date the former One Direction star while responding to fans’ tweets with Vanity Fair.

When one follower wrote, “Can Harry and Emily Ratajkowski date,” she quickly dashed any hopes of romance in the unearthed video.

The Vogue cover star replied: “I don’t know. I’m not sure I believe in fans screwing people. I don’t know if that’s the way to find the best kind of relationships.’

Harry was talking about his new love in a clip from eight years ago when he was asked by an interviewer if he had a “celebrity crush”.

While speaking to Telehit, he replied, “Emily Ratajkowski,” while comically mispronouncing her last name.

The surprising new romance follows Styles’ split from actress Olivia Wilde, 39, last November and Ratajkowski’s divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard, with whom she shares two-year-old son Sylvester.

Amused fans were quick to point out that Harry has been “manifesting” his romance with Emily for years, with one writing, “Harry’s been manifesting Emily Ratajkowski since 2014 and has made it happen.”

“Good for him then. Dreams come true,” wrote another.

It comes after reports that Ratajkowski and Styles have been close for a few weeks before their passionate kissing session on the streets of Tokyo.

The couple grabbed onto the PDA and didn’t seem to care who saw them while standing in front of viewers.

While the video came as a shock to many, The Sun reports that the couple have been dating for some time.

Speaking to the publication, a source said: “Harry and Emily are enjoying getting to know each other.

“Being filmed kissing in Tokyo and then sharing that footage with the world wasn’t what they expected – but they’re not hiding anything.

“Harry and Emily have known each other for some time. They’ve been spending some time together out of the public eye this year, just enjoying each other’s company when they can while Harry is on tour.

Harry is currently performing in Japan as part of his aptly named Love On Tour series of worldwide gigs.

Late last month it was reported that Harry had moved away from ex Olivia Wilde with someone else, although the mystery lady has not been identified.

“But his closest circle all know about the romance. Although it’s early days, things seem to be going well.’

Harry and actress Olivia went their separate ways in November after realizing they “have different priorities that keep them separate.”

Olivia was last seen supporting Harry while attending his concert at the Kia Forum in LA on November 15, where she was joined by her two children.

In November, it was claimed that Olivia was “disappointed” that her relationship with Harry Styles didn’t work out after almost two years of dating.

The two famously starred together in the movie Don’t Worry Darling, with rumors of a feud circulating between Olivia and co-star Florence Pugh.

Meanwhile, Emily had been linked to series date Pete Davidson for the past few months. She filed for divorce from her film producer ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard in September.

The outlet, which claims to have seen the documents, added that the divorce is contested, meaning there are disputes that need to be taken to court.

A source close to the star first confirmed the shocking split to People magazine in July, explaining that Emily is focused on raising the couple’s 16-month-old son Sylvester.
