Eshay girls refuse to pay at Get Polished nail salon in Newcastle’s Waratah – instead they attack a worker and demand he “go back to his country”.
Police are searching for two teenage “Eshayers” who refused to pay their bill at a family-run nail salon, attacked a worker, racially abused him and fled the scene.
The female duo visited Get Polished nail salon in the Newcastle suburb of Waratah around 2:30pm on Sunday and ordered two complete sets of acrylic nails, priced at $140.
According to staff, they then refused to hand over the money for the service, blaming the store’s lack of mobile service for their inability to pay.
The pair fled and when a staff member caught up with them, they kicked him in the stomach and punched him in the face before telling the man of Asian descent to “go back to his own country”.
In footage posted to the salon’s Facebook page, one of the girls can be heard saying: “Try to catch me on this f***ing shit” as she rides away on a scooter.
“That’s what I fucking thought,” she told the worker.
In a post on the salon’s Facebook page, they claim the two girls “provoked and dared our employee to fight back if he dared, saying they were underage.”
“We are a small family business trying to make a living and want to alert the community and other small businesses so this doesn’t happen to them,” the post said.
“We hope that by sharing this post you will stop this terrible and unacceptable behavior.”
Lee said her frustration isn’t about the money, but rather the lack of respect.
“I’m angry because it’s happened so many times,” Lee said.
“Young people know their power and can get away with anything.”
“Filing a report will not affect them at all, I know that because the exact same incident occurred with my employees.” [in another store].
“They ran away and my staff caught them and they still escaped.”

Numerous locals commented on the salon’s Facebook post to detest the girls’ actions towards the staff.
“This type of action is unacceptable, contemptible, disrespectful and so embarrassing,” one local wrote.
“They are just horrible and they and their parents should be ashamed,” wrote another.
