Ex-England footballer Jermain Defoe has split from his wife just months after their £200,000 wedding

A football pundit sparked fears in his marriage after spending Christmas alone after a £200,000 wedding.

Jermain Defoe, 40, spent his Christmas on the Caribbean island of St Lucia while his wife Donna stayed home in Glasgow.

The former Spurs and West Ham star was pictured without his wedding ring.

His wife, Donna, is using her maiden name, Tierney, again on social media.

The 40-year-old no longer follows her husband on social media and has not posted for more than eight weeks.

They both have pictures on Instagram of the OK! Magazine cover showing their wedding last June.

The Sun on Sunday revealed Defoe asked a nurse for sex just a month after their wedding.

A source told the Sun: “The marriage appears to be in trouble. You’d think they’d want to spend their first Christmas as husband and wife, but they didn’t, so it doesn’t look good at all.’

There has been a noticeable silence for almost two months.

Posting only pictures of herself and her family, Donna wished her 8,000 followers: “All the love and happiness in the world,” below a picture of her 12-year-old daughter unwrapping Christmas presents.

Donna suggested in an Instagram Story that she’s glad to see 2022 behind her — and “looking ahead” to the new year.
