EXCLUSIVE Beware of the cat burglar! Pet owner’s horror after CCTV caught terrifying moment Moggy sneaks into house brandishing a 5 inch KNIFE

A cat owner was shocked when his moggy snuck into his home with a 5-inch kitchen knife and tried to get into his bedroom.

Jay Phoenix says he was woken up at 3am by a knock on his bedroom door, only to find his four-year-old Maine Coon named Gingee at his bedroom door with a blade in his mouth.

The 43-year-old said: “In the early hours of the morning I heard a knock on the bedroom door, we had locked her out because she likes to wake me up at 5am.”

“I ignored it, but when my partner woke up and opened the door, she was there with the knife.

“He immediately looked at the footage and saw her casually walking through the cat door looking like a pirate.”

“She’s brought trash, animals, and toys before, but never guns.”

“I worry that she was angry because we locked her out of the bedroom.”

Jay, from Buckley, North Wales, says he set up surveillance cameras after his pet became an actual cat burglar and brought home dozens of household items stolen from neighbours.

He says he’s now considering putting a metal detector around the cat flap.

Gingee’s feline crime spree also included children’s swimming goggles, flower pots, a colander, toys, and more scissors.

With new items arriving four times a week, Jay and his partner have started posting to a local Facebook group to try to reunite the neighbors with their possessions.

In one case, an item was returned to its owner only to disappear again a short time later.

Jay said, “Every other day we wake up to something new.” We’ve even put security cameras in to catch her in the act, but so far she’s avoided it.

“She seems quite content with herself at times.” She leaves them right where we can see them, so obviously believes they are gifts for us.

“We don’t scold her or anything. We just find it hilarious now. It’s the most bizarre behavior we’ve ever seen. We just post on Facebook every time she brings something back hoping someone will claim it.

“Apart from being a petty thief, Gingee is the most loving and attention-grabbing cutie you will ever meet.” She loves meeting new people and making a fuss of them.

“She likes to be around you, so she often comes up to us on the sofa and just falls down next to us and falls asleep.” She is unique and beautiful.’

And locals see the funny side when one jokes, ‘Well, at least he had goggles to carry the scissors down the drain.’ Clever cat.’

Another quipped, “Next time he goes out I can order him what I need.”

This isn’t the first time a moggy’s robbery has embarrassed a cat owner. Last year Rachel Masterman, 48, from Gwent, Wales, revealed that her cat Demo had brought home a sex toy from a grave, along with gloves, a watering can and flowers.
