Speaking to DailyMail.com, Pat McGrath revealed that the makeup looks that gave the models a subtle glow were inspired by the ’60s
Speaking to DailyMail.com, legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath shared insight into the inspiration behind the models’ radiant looks and revealed that she and designer Donatella Versace remembered the ’60s when it came to the runway to get up and running.
Pat told DailyMail.com: “Donatella Versace takes a bright step, weaving the ’60s vibe with undeniable boldness.”
“The Versace SS24 collection is a harmonious mix of nostalgic prints and dynamic silhouettes.”
She explained that they wanted to complement the bold nature of the designs with a natural look, adding that this season’s look “evokes a captivating appeal.”
Kendall, Claudia and Gigi’s looks featured nude lips, flushed cheeks and softly trimmed eyeshadow creases.
“The focus remains on lifted skin, gently flushed cheeks and a soft brow.” The lips are completed with natural nude lip tones and radiant shine.
“The view is immersed in a vibrant spectrum of pastel tones, pistachio, baby blue and pink, reminiscent of the graphically defined cut creases of the 1960s.”
“Amplified by lush layers of Xtreme Black lashes, strength, sensuality and bold femininity come together, embodying the quintessential Versace woman in one stunning look,” the artist told DailyMail.com

The pastel tones in the makeup looks brought the models, showgoers and artists back to the “vibrant, iconic looks of the ’60s.”
“Using the pistachio and baby blue tones in combination with my new Bijoux Brilliance Eye Shadow Palette: Lunar Nightshade in “Platinum Moonlight” gives the eyes exquisite vibrancy!
“Of course, we added subtle touches of color to the cheeks with the new Divine Blush + Bronze + Glow Trio Palette!”
“To complete the look, I used intense coats of FetishEYES mascara to recreate these graphically defined eyes that embody so much nostalgia yet still feel fresh and avant-garde,” Pat explained.
And to tie all the colors together, they made sure to add different “pops of color” on the cheeks with the Divine Blush + Bronze + Glow Trio palette.”
Pat also talked about how they adapted the look to different skin tones and face shapes.
“It’s about individuality and adaptability.” While the color palette remains consistent, application can vary slightly to highlight each model’s skin tone and unique features like adjusting the shade of the PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil for the slightly nude lip.
