Incredibly, two of the gang members went to a nearby cafe for coffee, where they were arrested by the Policia Nacional less than half an hour later.

One local said: “I think they thought they could hide among the locals and stay undetected, who knows.”

Three other suspected gang members who fled the scene in a car were arrested as they refueled their car at a gas station in nearby Benahavis.

A witness told the Olive Press: “My colleague was at the station and said she saw three men on the ground in handcuffs.”

The nationalities of the shooters and victims are not yet known.

A Policia Nacional official at the scene told the Sun: “We cannot confirm anything as the investigation is still ongoing.”
