The station had a difficult task, the popular Dr. Replacing Chris Brown, and the cast was impressed by Robert’s natural charm during the audition.

“He had charisma and spontaneity. “He was funny and had amazing instincts,” the insider said of the masterstroke.

Because of their natural chemistry, casting agents weren’t worried about the age difference between Robert, 19, and veteran presenter Julia Morris, 55.

“The age difference didn’t feel strange and everyone, including Julia, loved it – Robert had the maturity and talent to bring the skills needed for the role.”

A number of TV’s biggest stars auditioned for the coveted role, including Logies presenter Sam Pang, who politely declined the TV gig.

There were rumors circulating that Julia had asked to be co-hosted after she found out that Dr. Chris would leave the show.

“Julia quickly added co-host approval to her contract when she heard rumors that Dr. Chris Brown was not present,” the insider claimed.

“Which was wise when she joined the network by not unsubscribing from any of the men she tested against,” they added.

Julia also won’t make any suggestive comments about Robert because everyone knows it won’t be viewed negatively.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel 10 for comment.
