EXCLUSIVE: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas agree to temporarily keep their children in New York during a bitter divorce battle – just days after the actress demanded he return them to England
The bitter custody battle between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas appears to have resulted in a truce after the couple agreed to temporarily keep their children in New York, court documents show.
Just days after the 27-year-old actress demanded that her 34-year-old husband return their two young daughters to England, the two agreed to an injunction that prohibits either party from removing the children from the state.
The court agreement, filed Monday and obtained by DailyMail.com, states that her three-year-old daughter, Willa, and her one-year-old daughter, whose name has not been released, must remain in the Southern or Eastern Districts of New York – an area that covers New York Citythe Hudson Valley and Long Island.
It was agreed to “protect the welfare of the (children) involved,” according to the document filed by Turner’s attorney, Stephen Cullen.

The order appears to be an olive branch after both sides exchanged bitter accusations over the past two weeks.
The filing from Cullen, Turner’s attorney, said: “Without prejudice to either party’s claims and defenses, the parties have consented to the entry of the attached proposed interim consent order prohibiting the removal of the parties’ children from the jurisdictions of the United States District Courts for.” the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York pending further determination by this court.
The filing states that the court should exercise its powers to “protect the best interests of the child involved or prevent further removal or concealment of the child prior to the final determination of the petition.”
A draft of the order must now be signed by Judge Katherine Polk Failla, who is overseeing the case.
The law relevant to the dispute is the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction and the International Child Abduction Remedies Act.

The filing comes just days after Jonas sensationally denied his estranged wife’s claims after she accused him of withholding their children’s passports and refusing to allow them to travel to her in the UK.
Turner is suing ex-husband Jonas to try to get their two children back to her native Britain, according to court documents filed Thursday, marking the latest bitter twist in the couple’s messy divorce battle.
After the news broke, a representative for 34-year-old Jonas said in a statement to DailyMail.com that the singer was looking to “co-parent” with the 27-year-old Game Of Thrones star, adding: “The children were not kidnapped.”
