Fans have condemned an ugly incident during Arsenal’s 2-0 derby win in north London, in which Aaron Ramsdale was kicked by a fan after the final whistle.
The keeper was first shoved by Tottenham’s Richarlison as he went behind the goal to get his water bottle before a fan jumped from the stands to kick him in the back before being pulled away by stewards.
Both Ramsdale and team-mate Granit Xhaka then had to be restrained as they responded to the incident before Mikel Arteta calmed the situation and his players took over to celebrate the win with fans who had traveled there.

While the Arsenal goalkeeper mocked fans after the final whistle, his treatment was heavily criticized online by Spurs and Arsenal fans afterwards.
“What this fan did was an absolute disgrace and should be named, shamed and banned,” one tweeted, while others understood the supporter’s “frustration” but added, “You can’t do that.”
Jamie Redknapp told Sky the kick was “completely unacceptable” and added “this guy shouldn’t be allowed into a football stadium” while Gary Neville simply called him an “idiot”.

Richarlison’s behavior after the game was also criticized by fans as his actions were branded “completely wrong” and the Brazilian forward was dubbed “the biggest baby in the league”.
Arteta was reluctant to speak about the incident after the game but confirmed Ramsdale is fine.
The PFA later released a statement which read: “Violence towards players is totally unacceptable. Such incidents happen far too often.
“Players have a right to be safe in their workplace. If a player is attacked, we expect that applicable laws and regulations to protect them will be properly enforced.

Richarlison has been dubbed the Premier League’s “biggest baby” for his behaviour
“As a players’ union, we treat this as a priority issue. We will continue to work with the authorities to demand that players and staff be better protected in their workplace.’
Any antics off the pitch barring it, Sunday was a superb win for Arsenal – who move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League while also winning at Tottenham for the first time in eight years.
Spurs remain fifth at the halfway point in the season, five points adrift of Manchester United, who have played a game in hand.
