‘Fashion Mom’ reveals the three clothing trends that are DONE in 2023

A fashion expert revealed the three style trends for 2023.

Meytal Algranti, who has over a million followers on TikTok as @stylehard, has listed the trends she doesn’t think will carry over from 2022 into this new year.

Toronto, Canada-based Algranti, dubbed a “fashion mom” on TikTok, says in a recent video that the first item of clothing that will be “over” is “aggressive mom jeans.”

“Today we are talking about trends that are over and you will go crazy. You should always do and wear what you want,” she begins the video.

She then quips, ‘Remember who’s in charge, I’m TikTok Fashion Mom. You’ll shut up if you talk to me.’

Algranti, who studied Fashion Coordination and Styling at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), according to Influencive, goes on to explain her top choice on her list.

“Let’s use number one: the aggressive mom jeans, especially with the elastic waistband,” she says.

“Well I know a lot of you guys are already crazy but here’s the thing, I don’t know why but it makes me want to flee.”

Algranti then presents their object “Number Two”.

“The aggressive square nail — well-documented to transmit E. coli, highly flammable, and ugly as hell, too,” she says.

Next on the list of influencers is the open boot.

“Look, I know you were the s*** in 2013, and by the way, I’m not promoting getting rid of your stuff at all. But I advocate reusing these,” she says.

“You know that could be a good garden shoe, you got the heel to really get into that ground, breathable toe box right?” Algranti jokes.

Finally, the mother urges people to take her advice “with a grain of salt.”

“The truth is I don’t make the rules. I mean, I do, but…” Algranti quips.

She explains the Gucci Jackie and the Prada Cleo and Re-Edition as trends.

“You might think [the Jackie] is a classic, it has been done before, this bag has history,” says Algranti.

“Yes, that’s all true, but this bag, along with the other bags mentioned, has gone through waves of popularity and waves of unpopularity, making it part of the trend cycle.

“That doesn’t mean it’s a bad investment or worthless.”

Meanwhile, Algranti says a classic “remains relevant in fashion whether it’s super popular or not.”

“A great example of this bag is the Bottega Intrecciato… it’s a great classic because although it’s not very popular, it’s always relevant in fashion,” she says.

“Bottega always has a version of it, even the Jodie bag… not the mini Jodie, and Bottega still has that version today. It’s always there.”

“This is not and will never stand the test of time,” she says.

In another video, Algranti broke down the “hot fashion trends for 2023.”

“Transparent in a number of ways,” says the mother, beginning her list.

“All sheer outfits, dresses, coordinating sets, sheer details and little touches, and of course sheer in a casual way, which we’ve seen many times and are still going strong.”

The next hot trend are baggy and oversized jeans.

“We love seeing these trends carry over from season to season, rather than these turbo trends that we watch and die,” says Algranti.

She said the same goes for the oversized blazer and coordinated suits.

Next are maxi skirts, but she assures people that mini skirts are “still a thing.”

Sequins are back in a lot of ways, too, “but mostly silver.”

“To this day, we still have oversized leather jackets that are reminiscent of ’80s styles,” says Algranti.
