The Ferrari 296 GTB is coming to Rocket League on all platforms starting tomorrow, August 31st. It’s modeled after the same hybrid sports car that debuted in the real world just a few months earlier.
For 2000 in-game credits, players can purchase the Ferrari 296 GTB Bundle from the item shop, which includes the car itself as well as the following related cosmetic items:
The items in the pack are exclusive to Ferrari 296 GTB and cannot be customized with other branded content. Competitive players interested in purchasing the pack should also keep in mind that the Ferrari 296 GTB runs similar to the Dominus and shares the same hitbox.
In addition, given their first collaboration, fans of the brand who do not wish to pay will receive a free Ferrari player banner. Rocket League showed off the sports car’s horsepower and slick looks in a trailer to promote the upcoming release.
Rocket League concludes its World Championship on August 15th and it’s still a standout game in esports. The free-to-play game has continued to appeal to gamers worldwide since its launch in 2015, and according to Active Player, the game has had nearly 90 million average monthly players over the last 30 days.
Ferrari, one of the world’s leading sports car manufacturers, wanted to capitalize on Rocket League’s large player base and give fans the opportunity to drive their own Ferrari. At the end of the luxury car brands that have crossover cars in the game, Ferrari will join Aston Martin, BMW, Ford, Lamborghini and McLaren in the car soccer arena.
The Ferrari 296 GTB will only be available in the Item Shop for a limited time. The collaboration ends on September 6th, just one day before the game enters its seventh season.
