FIFA 23 Team of the Week Upgrade Path Update Detailed

The FIFA 23 Team of the Week upgrade path has been updated with the return of the weekly promotion on January 4th.

Team of the Week 10 is the first TOTW roster available in packs after the World Cup update. Players can now bag in-form items again each week and earn special red items through FUT Champions Player Picks. The promotion has often been criticized as outdated and uninteresting due to EA Sports’ traditional adherence to a rigid upgrade system throughout a FUT cycle. TOTW often falls behind the performance curve quickly because players usually receive special items during promotions that are absolutely better than their in-form items.

It seems that the developer has listened to community feedback as TOTW changes for the rest of FIFA 23.

“With the return of TOTW, the In-Form progression path has been updated with larger upgrade sizes in different OVR ranges. Also, there will now be two featured TOTW items per release,” EA Sports said in the TOTW 10 announcement.

This is a huge win for FIFA Ultimate Team fans. Take Martin Odegaard’s new TOTW element in the latest version. His previous TOTW item was rated 86 while his new item was rated 88 overall. In the past, 86 rated items would only add up to one point. The updated progression path isn’t fully detailed yet, but maybe Odegaard’s next TOTW item is 90 total. That would get fans excited every Wednesday and the subsequent FUT Champions event because there are better items to grab.

FIFA 23 Team of the Week 10 is now available in bundles. The roster expires on Wednesday, January 11th when a new Team of the Week is released.
