A fire truck collides with a tram in central Sydney, injuring three passengers and driving the vehicle off the tracks

A fire truck collided with a light rail vehicle, injuring three passengers and causing the tram to go off the tracks.

The accident happened at the Haymarket junction of Pitt Street and Eddy Avenue in Sydney on Monday.

In a statement, Fire and Rescue NSW said: “The light rail has come off the tracks as a result of the collision, both roads are closed.”

The three occupants suffered minor injuries. A NSW ambulance crew is on site.
