“Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long romance and turbulent marriage, from a German military base to his dream estate at Graceland, fantasy and fame, in this heartfelt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love.”
Principal photography for the biopic based on Priscilla Presley’s New York Times bestselling memoir Elvis And Me (1985) opened in Toronto in October.

When looking for an actress to play Priscilla, Coppola made it a point to find someone who could play her as both a teenager and a woman in her late 20s. And it turns out that Spaeny was her first choice to adapt the story from the start.
“The character ages between 15 and 27 over the course of the film, so she had to be able to act and age over a long period of time,” the 51-year-old filmmaker explained Fashion.
“It was really important to me to have the same actress play Priscilla at different stages of her life, and I think Cailee can do that.” “She’s such a strong actress, and she looks very young too.”
When it came to finding the young man to portray Elvis Presley, Coppola knew it would be difficult to find someone who could come close to his incredible good looks and charisma. But in the end, it was Elordi’s own charisma that helped him land the role.
“I thought no one would look like Elvis, but Jacob has the same appeal.” “He’s so charismatic and girls go crazy for him, so I knew he could pull off playing that kind of romantic icon.” , the writer and director of “Lost In Translation” revealed.

There’s no doubt that Coppola, who also serves as an executive producer, A24 and Sony Pictures are hoping to match or exceed the success of Luhrmann’s Elvis, which grossed $286 million worldwide on a budget of $85 million box office grossed.
Priscilla Presley, 77, was a big supporter of the Elvis biopic, calling it “a true, brilliantly and creatively told story that only Baz, with his unique artistic style, could have delivered.” She also praised Butler’s performance, saying: “Bravo. ” him. He knew he had big shoes to fill. He was extremely nervous while playing this role. I can only imagine it.’
Inspired by Priscilla’s life story as a teenager growing up at Graceland in Memphis, Coppola compared her story to that of “Marie Antoinette.”
“The hardest part of writing the script was cutting out so many incredible details from Priscilla’s memoir,” she said. “I wanted to imagine what growing up in this world must have been like through their eyes.”
As of now, there is no official word on when “Priscilla” will premiere.
