Fleur East has said Strictly Come Dancing has been a “blessing” to their marriage as the sexy dances and racy outfits reignited the flame.
The 35-year-old singer-songwriter scored perfect scores in Blackpool’s legendary ballroom and has survived another week of this year’s Strictly.
But rather than feel the effects of the dance show’s curse on her relationship with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin, who she has been with for 12 years, she has insisted the seductive performances have worked wonders for the longtime couple.
‘A blessing’: Fleur East has said Strictly Come Dancing has been a ‘blessing’ to their marriage as the sexy dances and racy outfits reignited the flame
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Fleur expressed her pride at making it to the top of the rankings last week.
She and her professional dance partner Vito Coppola scored the top 40 of the series with their couple dance to a mega mix of Destiny’s Child.
“It’s the most iconic week of the show and it was incredible to get there and score so well, especially as it was tough being in the dance twice and getting a lot of scathing criticism,” she told talk show host Graham.
And on the subject of the severe curse, she ruled out any possibility that it could affect their marriage.

“The show was a blessing to my marriage, it was amazing,” she said.
“We’ve been together for 12 years and how many times in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week and do all those sexy dances in front of your husband?
“After the Argentine tango, it was like we got married again! It was wonderful.’
Many celebrities in long-term relationships and marriages have fallen victim to the dreaded Strictly curse.
Lover: Fleur told Graham Norton: “We’ve been together for 12 years and how many times in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week and do all these sexy dances in front of your husband?”
In August, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and his girlfriend Eirianedd Munro became the latest couple to split after appearing on the show in 2021.
Stars spend hours training with their professional partners before taking to the stage for steamy and intimate performances – and on many occasions this has led to their loved ones stepping to the curb.
Countdown’s math genius Rachel Riley’s relationship with her pro partner Pasha Kovalev finally ended her marriage to her husband of just one year.
Stacey Dooley’s boyfriend of five years Sam Tucknott, 30, revealed she had dumped him – and in an interview he called her dance partner, three-time married Kevin Clifton, 36, a slippery snake.
No curse here: The singer-songwriter says “it was like she and Marcel remarried after Argentine tango.”
She starred on the Friday night show alongside Daniel Craig, Clive Myrie, Sir Ian McKellen and John Bishop.
This week Charlie Puth performed live in the studio singing his new single ‘Loser’ before meeting up with Graham for a chat.
Earlier this week, Fleur was twenty minutes late for her own morning breakfast show on Hits Radio as she continues to struggle with her grueling “15-hour workday”.
The Strictly Come Dancing star was revealed to be “missing in action” by co-hosts James Barr and Matt Haslam as they went on air at 6am.
The singer was training for the BBC dance competition and slept through her alarm clock after rehearsing with partner Vito Coppola until 10pm the night before.
Star-studded: Daniel Craig also appeared on The Graham Norton Show this week, where he hilariously admitted he ‘flatly ignored’ instructions to speak with a Southern accent in his new film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
James and Matt assured the audience: “She will be here soon. She’s on 15 hour days at the moment so we need to loosen her up a bit!
When Fleur finally made it on air, she admitted: “I slept a little too well last night folks – I danced past 10pm which explains the bags under my eyes. Bags for life!’
The pair are hoping to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas this week with their ‘Fleurito’, a sensual rhumba set to Sugababes Too Lost In You.
