Florence Pugh praised her ex-boyfriend Zach Braff while appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Monday.

The 27-year-old actress proved they still get along well, revealing he’d sent her a good luck message with a hilarious typo just hours before the talk show.

Already in August Florence announced she had split from the 47-year-old actor and filmmaker. after three years together in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

The Little Women star appeared on the show to promote her new movie, A Good Person, which was written by Zach.

Bringing up the upcoming image, Jimmy said: “I want to talk about your new film, A Good Person. This was written and directed by Zach Braff who I love. He’s a great guy. So talented but also super funny.’

Florence chimed in, “Yeah let’s give him a round of applause,” before adding, “He told me to have fun tonight but he wrote, ‘Tell mommy I love him.’

“It was a typo and indeed it was Jimmy!” She exclaimed, to which the comedian joked, “I was going to say, ‘Did he ever call me mom?’ That’s cool.’

Florence quipped: “Yeah, tell mum you love him too. Mommy loves you Zach!’ while the audience roared with laughter.’

Jimmy continued earnestly, “But he wrote that movie for you…”

Florence said: “I was his muse. I also think it’s so easy to read a script when someone knows how you speak and how far they can push you and what you’re capable of. So it was just a joy.’

Florence has taken on a dual role as producer and co-star alongside Morgan Freeman in the tragic drama A Good Person, which hits UK and US cinemas this Friday.

The Scrubs graduate, who turns 48 next month, is more than friendly with the 5ft 3in tall blonde after having dinner with her and her family on Saturday night.

“I’m just in awe of her talent,” Zach – who wore a three-piece green suit – gushed to ET on Monday.

“And I said, ‘I want to write this [movie] for Florence. What I’m writing is going to be really challenging and she’s amazing.”

Zach originally met Florence in August 2018 while directing her in his 12-minute Adobe Creative Cloud short, In the Time It Takes To Get There.

Other ladies from the A Good Person cast included Nichelle Hines, SJ Son and Emilia Suárez – who play Molly, pharmacist Christine and Gabriella.

Zach met Florence’s parents and grandmother for dinner on Saturday nightshowing her family a good time in New York City.

Florence skipped dinner but there is no bad blood between her and Braff, who she dated from 2019 to 2022.

The Little Women star has since moved in with Charlie Gooch, who is reportedly a former schoolmate from England.

The actress confirmed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last year that she and the Scrubs star parted ways in August.

The couple worked to keep their relationship out of the public eye, with Florence saying they plan to separate privately.

Florence told the publication: “We tried to go through with this breakup without the world knowing because it was a relationship that everyone has an opinion on.

“We just felt like something like this would really benefit us if millions of people didn’t tell us how lucky they are that we’re not together. So that’s what we did. I automatically get a lump in my throat when I talk about it.”

Speaking to Collider last March, Zach praised her when discussing her performance in his film A Good Person, saying, “Florence Pugh’s performance in the film, I know I’m biased, but it’s the most wonderful thing you will ever see.’

In theaters on March 24, A Good Person will see Florence starring as Allison – a young woman who forms an unlikely relationship with her future father-in-law years after the tragic accident that killed her fiancé.

A Good Person opens in UK cinemas from March 24th and on Sky Cinema from April 28th.
