Magpies grand final hero Josh Daicos capped his incredible off-season trip to Europe with a visit to Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou in London – where he revealed the similarities between the two sides.

The 24-year-old has been living with girlfriend Annalize Dalins since his Magpies won the flag and received an invitation to a training session with Premier League leaders Hotspur.

After a warm welcome and being presented with a Spurs jersey bearing his name from Postecoglou – despite the manager being a big fan of Collingwood’s old rivals Carlton – the striker raved about the experience.

“It was really nice to meet some of the players and watch them train.” “Just seeing the facilities here, it’s probably by far the best venue I’ve ever been to,” he said.

“The way they look after their players is truly amazing and you can see why they are at the top of their game at the moment.”

“The training is very intense and you can see the attention to detail.”

“It’s very similar for us [Collingwood] in terms of dividing into groups and focusing on individual needs.

“We take a lot of inspiration from those guys and watch people like Sonny.” [Son Heung-min] and the rest of them are doing great.’

Postecoglou has proven to be a revelation at the start of the Premier League season after taking the top job at the north London club following his stunning success with Celtic in Scotland.

His team are currently two points clear at the top of the table after ten games, marking Spurs’ best ever start to a season in the Premier League era.

Tottenham’s 26 points from eight wins and two draws means the Australian has accumulated the most points by a coach in his first ten games in the competition’s history.

The club’s only better start to the season came in 1960/61, when they won the title.

Before visiting the Spurs and “Big Ange,” Daicos and Dalins visited Rome, the famous cliff town of Positano on Italy’s Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri in the Gulf of Naples.

He then witnessed Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Milan at the Parc de Princes Stadium in Paris, where he was joined by his AFL colleague Christian Petracca of the Melbourne Demons.

A trip to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa was also on the agenda, as well as some fitness training on an athletics track just a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower and incredible seats for France’s defeat by England at the Rugby World Cup.

Meanwhile, Daicos’ brother and Pies teammate Nick has been enjoying the sights of Greece, posting photos of his time on the country’s famous islands on his Instagram account.
