Peyton Hillis, the former running back star for the Cleveland Browns, is reportedly in critical condition after saving his children from drowning in the ocean.
A post on Facebook believed to be from Hillis’ uncle says Peyton is “doing better.”
“He’s still in intensive care and has some issues with his kidneys and lungs, but doctors say he’s doing better,” the post reads.
“I just wanted to forestall any rumors that might be circulated. I’m sure he wants everyone to know that he appreciates all the prayers thrown for him!!!’
The reports of the accident gave no details about where the incident took place or what caused Hillis’ injuries.

After starting his career with the Denver Broncos, Hillis was traded to the Browns for backup QB Brady Quinn along with a pick in the sixth round.
Hillis is best known for his 2010 season with Cleveland, which included 1,600 total yards and 13 touchdowns.
As a result of this campaign, he won a national vote to become the cover athlete for the EA Sports Madden 12 video game.

Hillis retired from football in 2015 after stints with the Chiefs, Buccaneers and Giants
After two seasons in Cleveland, he joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent.

Hillis retired in 2015 at his doctor’s request due to a history of concussions.
In four years of college at the University of Arkansas, Hillis totaled 960 rushing yards and 1,197 receiving yards – a total of 23 touchdowns.
Hillis is no longer with his children’s mother, Amanda, and is currently in a relationship with actress Angela Cole. The two starred in the horror film The Hunting.
