Former porn actress Mia Khalifa tells fans to ‘keep waiting’ as she performs ‘Hogwarts Legacy’

Influencer Mia Khalifa has revealed she’s so engrossed in a video game that she hasn’t been able to get back to her adoring fans – asking them to “keep waiting for her response”.

The US-based star, who used to work in the porn industry but has recently spoken out against it, shared a snap of herself playing Hogwarts Legacy Instagram.

The 30-year-old star was seen enjoying a Starbucks coffee while playing the latest Harry Potter game on his console after a busy week at work, as he had said he needed to rest.

Mia shared a Harry Potter emoji in the top right of the screen on her Instagram Story while showing off her toned legs to her 27.6million followers.

The caption read, “If I owe you an email, keep waiting.”

Mia’s recovery begins after an intense two-week run at multiple fashion shoots and events, including a recent Diesel runway show.

This comes after she gave fans a glimpse of her fun-filled vacation in Mexico, where she’s staying in a luxurious villa.

The beauty posted clips of herself and her pals twerking at villa Casa Xixim on her Instagram Story.

Mia opted for a fuchsia dress with a plunging neckline and ruffle detail as she was spending a night out with her friends – but it was by no means a quiet night.

With music blaring in the background, the 30-year-old influencer takes part in what appears to be a twerking competition with her friend The Sun reported.

She captioned the story, “Photos or it didn’t happen… oh my god.”

Mia appeared to be enjoying her time in Mexico as she posted a recap of photos and videos from their fun-filled evening on her Instagram grid yesterday.

She wrote, “Mexiko, te amo con todo mi corazon,” which translates to “Mexico, I love you with all my heart.”

Mia continued, “This country, the people, the food, the history… it’s pure magic.”

The Lebanon-born star concluded, “Tengo tanto suerte en esta vida,” which translates to “I’m so lucky in this life.”

The group stays at the exclusive villa Casa Xixim, which rents around £2,000 a night and has a private chef.

Mia, whose real name is Sarah Joe Chamoun, spends much of her time denouncing the porn industry after three months of making porn films in 2014.

She became a controversial figure after filming sketches while wearing a hijab and revealed in 2019 that she had received death threats because of her work.

In an interview with Stephen Sackur on BBC’s HardTalk, she was asked to explain what prompted her to act in adult films straight out of college after being approached by a man on the street.

“I don’t think low self-esteem discriminates against anyone,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if you come from a great family or a not-so-great background.

Mia explained that her self-esteem issues started at a young age and part of her interest in porn stemmed from a desire to feel attractive.

Mia was in Miami when a man approached her about wanting to get into the adult film industry, but she explained he wasn’t immediately open about what he actually wanted.

“It wasn’t just, ‘Hey, do you want to come over to do porn?'” she recalls. “It was more, ‘Oh, you’re beautiful.’ Would you like to model something? ‘Oh you know you’ve got a great body, I think you’d be great at nude modelling.’ Stuff like that.’

She said the studio is “very respectable” and in a “beautiful location”. It was clean, the people were friendly, and the staff cubicles were adorned with family photos. There was nothing to make her uncomfortable.

“I don’t really see myself as a victim. “I don’t like that word,” she said. “I’ve made my own choices, even if they were horrible choices.” I think something needs to change in the way women are approached.”

Mia stressed that producers couldn’t force movie stars into having sex they didn’t want to do, but admitted she had “very little say” during filming when it came to the subject and location.

She explained that she doesn’t even really remember what it was like filming sex acts because her adrenaline was so high at the time.

“I shocked myself,” she said of the decision, which not only changed her life but also destroyed her relationship with her family.

“They disowned me when they found out. “I felt completely alienated not only from the world but also from my family and the people around me,” she said. “Especially after I quit when I was still alone even though I left. And I just realized that some mistakes are unforgivable. But time heals all wounds and now things are getting better.”

When asked if she had any qualms about filming in hijab, Mia said she told the producers they would kill her but they just laughed.

Although it was ultimately her decision to film the film, she admitted she was too nervous to tell them she wasn’t ready, especially after the reaction she got when voicing her concerns.

“When there are four white male producers in the room and you say something like that to them and they all just laugh, it’s kind of devastating,” she said. “It makes you want to say something again.”

Mia said the video that made her a viral star “shattered” her world. On the contrary, she never intended to become a famous porn star.

“The reason I thought it was okay for me to do porn was because I thought no one would ever know about it,” she said. “There are millions of girls who film themselves having sex and doing things like that and nobody knows their names.” Nobody knows who they are. Nobody recognizes her.

“I wanted to do it as my dirty little secret, but it got on my nerves.”
