French Montana breaks its silence after 10 were shot dead outside a Miami restaurant

French Montana has broken its silence after ten people were reportedly injured in a shooting outside a Miami Gardens restaurant on Thursday.

The 38-year-old musician took to Twitter on Friday, where he sent “thoughts and prayers” to those injured in the shooting – who are said to include Rob49 and a bodyguard.

Filming is said to have taken place at a music video shoot for Montana and Rob49 – but Montana clarified it was during a celebration for him newly released Coke Boys 6 mixtape.

He wrote: “Last night I was in Miami to celebrate the release of my CB6 mixtape with friends at a local restaurant.

“Unfortunately, we were in the wrong place at the wrong time when an incident occurred that left people injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families at this time

Miami Police and Fire Department responded to reports of a shooting at The Licking Restaurant just before 8 p.m. Thursday.

Several hours later, the building remained cordoned off with crime scene tape while ambulances and police vehicles continued to line 27th Avenue in Miami Gardens.

Multiple posts on social media indicate that Rob49, 24, a popular New Orleans rapper, and one of French Montana’s bodyguards were two of the victims who were shot. Police have not yet confirmed these reports.

Miami Gardens Police Department Detective Diana Gorgue told WSVN that law enforcement “still works.” [the scene].’

“There are multiple shots, there are multiple falls,” she said. “We can’t confirm numbers at the moment because everything is still fresh.”

Paramedics reportedly airlifted four victims to the Ryder Trauma Center.

A first responder said over the radio: “We had a total of 10 [victims]. Four took themselves to the hospital and we treated six transports.’

At least one of the victims was in critical condition as of Thursday evening. Montana’s bodyguard was fighting for his life after the mass shooting, according to multiple social media posts.

News crews also captured rescue teams wheeling two victims to the hospital on stretchers.

Witnesses to Ced Mogul said rapper French Montana – known for a brief relationship with Khloe Kardashian among other things – shot a music video in front of soul-food restaurant The Licking, owned by DJ Khaled.

Cellphone footage shows French Montana, 38, in the restaurant’s parking lot while others stand around.

Eyewitness Ced Mogul said a man in the crowd had his keys and wallet stolen, after which the shooting broke out.

The witness said the transition from confusion to multiple gunshots was “very quick”.

“There were at least 13, 14, 15 shots. It sounded like an assault rifle,” he said, adding that he started running.

Several police and firefighters and vehicles gathered at the scene, where several people were injured and taken to local hospitals

The shooting took place in the parking lot of a local soul food restaurant where the rappers had filmed a music video

Hours after the shooting, it was unclear if an individual fired into the crowd or if there was an exchange of fire. It was also unclear whether anyone had been taken into custody.

A second video pans over the scene of the shooting before ambulances arrived.

Several bodies can be seen lying almost motionless in various areas of the parking lot.

TMZ reported that security forces removed him from the area without incident.

CBS reported that law enforcement will be reviewing videos posted and surveillance tapes of the area on social media as they investigate the incident.
