- Look-alikes included British music stars Baby Spice and David Bowie
Officials have sparked outrage after it emerged £7,000 was spent hiring celebrity doubles of David Bowie and Baby Spice to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
At the lavish party, held at the British Embassy in Stockholm, performers from Entourage Productions strolled around the building to celebrate the late Queen’s birthday.
The Mirror reported that around 60 people visited Ambassador Judith Gough’s residence in Stockholm in June.

While no one dressed up as Paddington Bear, toys were scattered throughout the house in tribute to the Queen
Entourage Productions advertises other people on their website that their actors dress up as at other events including former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, pictured like Hannibal Lector locked up and chained in a straitjacket on their website.
At the anniversary party, however, no one came dressed as a former prime minister, The Foreign Office insisted.
The cost of hiring the performers has prompted a backlash from Labor as struggling families grapple with the livelihood crisis at home, leading to high energy bills and food prices.
A Labor source told the Mirror: “The Tories must not realize that we are in the middle of a cost of living crisis, or they must not care.
“In any case, they need to take their £7,000 dance troupes and get off the stage properly.
“Fetish gear, pig heads and Boris in a cage: it would all be a good laugh if it weren’t such a grotesque waste of taxpayers’ money.”

A Foreign Office source told the Mirror such events are an important opportunity to promote British influence on the world stage and British influence on the world stage, as well as bilateral links between countries.
At the end of December, Labor MP Emily Thornberry asked the Foreign Secretary, “in relation to his Department’s publication of spending on public procurement cards in excess of £500 for June 2022, what is the (a) nature and (b) purpose of the services for which Entourage was paid £6,941.43 on 17 June 2022”.

Secretary of State David Rutley said some of the party’s funds came from private sponsors.
He added: “Staff considered a number of offers; Entourage Productions felt it represented the best value for money in terms of the lowest cost and range of services offered.
“The Queen’s birthday party was funded by a combination of MAJOR UK funding and private sponsorship.”
