Gary Lineker has ripped Danny Murphy days after the BBC porn prank embarrassed them both during live football coverage as they watched match of the day together.

A serial prankster left a device of Liverpool’s FA Cup win at Wolves on the BBC’s Live Studio on Tuesday night, playing “porn noises” to millions of TV viewers.

In the aftermath, Murphy said he became “paranoid” about the incident, unsure he wasn’t involved but also unaware that the interference was coming from her studio.

And the 45-year-old former Liverpool midfielder was the target of one of Lineker’s usual jokes, scattered throughout the content of BBC1’s Match of the Day weekend highlights package.

The 62-year-old host opened the show by saying, “Let’s hope we don’t get rudely interrupted,” before asking the expert, “Danny Murphy, have you turned off your phone?”

Murphy confirmed that was the case and the show went on as usual, including highlights from Saturday’s big Premier League games.
