Sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell will take a prison literacy test in her Florida jail while trying to get a call center job that makes $1.24 an hour by bargaining internet, television and phone service Prices sold to callers.
The disgraced socialite, 61, is serving a 20-year sentence for procuring girls for humiliation and abuse for her late pedophile lover Jeffrey Epstein.
Should she pass the test, Maxwell can spend some of her time working for a telecommunications company that outsources some of its call center work to the Florida prison where she is currently being held.
She will make three times what she currently earns in her new role at the prison’s law library, but the money will do little to offset the $750,000 fine imposed by her trial judge.

A source told The Mirror that many inmates at FCI Tallahassee Women’s Prison in Florida work in the call center.
“The girls were joking when she changes jobs, callers will think they called Buckingham Palace with her posh accent. Telephoning gives the girls contact with the outside world. Some find it a lifeline,” the source explained.
Customers on the other end of the line don’t know they’re actually speaking to a convicted criminal, whether it’s a drug dealer, gunman, mass murderer, or child trafficker.
Maxwell will appear in a television interview on Monday.
Broadcaster Jeremy Kyle announced that he interviewed the heiress from her cell.
Announcing the show, titled “Ghislaine Behind Bars,” Kyle told viewers, “Maxwell is lifting the lid on Epstein, Prince Andrew and even our late Queen. This is Ghislaine Maxwell behind bars and in her own words.

It also comes after it was revealed that Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell, is running etiquette classes for inmates at the prison.
Maxwell has preached to inmates about women’s empowerment and the need to “uphold high moral standards” at the twice-weekly sessions for up to 40 convicts.
A notice posted at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee read: “Taught by Ms. Maxwell, this course teaches the three principles of etiquette—with an emphasis on respect, consideration, and honesty.”
Oxford-educated Maxwell also speaks of emulating powerful women figures, citing her former friend Hillary Clinton’s presidential candidacy as an example of how women can “break the glass ceiling.”
The course is also part of the First Step Act, which means inmates, including drug dealers, white-collar criminals and convicted murderers, can have their sentences reduced by up to 15 days by attending.
It is so popular that Maxwell offers classes in English and Spanish with the help of a Colombian inmate who acts as a translator for the prison’s sizable Hispanic population.
“It’s less about balancing books on your head and being ladylike and more about having confidence in yourself — how to act and talk professionally, the secrets of success in the corporate world and stuff like that,” said an insider.
“Miss Maxwell’s message is that if you’re a woman and a convicted felon, you’re not a second-class citizen. She’s an unlikely role model, but she’s very passionate about it.’

Maxwell’s course ran from December 5 to December 30 and a second round of classes has been approved by prison authorities to begin soon, a source added.
Meanwhile, Maxwell — prisoner 02879-509 but nicknamed Max by incarcerated friends — has run a yoga class and worked in the prison library, helping the 755-strong female population choose books.
She has daily access to a 400-meter running track, which she jogs regularly.
Maxwell was convicted in December 2021 on five counts of caring for a minor for longtime confidante Epstein, who hanged himself in 2019.
After two years in the fortress-like Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, where she complained of maggot-infested meals and inhumane treatment, Maxwell was to serve her time at Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Danbury — the Connecticut prison that inspired Orange is the New Black .
But without any explanation, she was instead shipped 1,000 miles south to the Sunshine State in late July, where Epstein abused many of his victims at his Palm Beach mansion.

FCI Tallahassee — Maxwell’s prospective home until at least July 17, 2037 — is surrounded by a maze of 30-foot fences and cameras. But the sleek red brick building behind the jagged rolls of barbed wire looks more like a school or college campus.
Before her arrest in 2019, disgraced Britain’s Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton were among jet set Maxwell’s long list of high society friends.
Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking minors, transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and triple conspiracy after a federal trial in New York learned she had lured girls as young as 14 to Epstein.
Maxwell expressed her remorse when she was sentenced to 240 months in prison, telling her victims, “I hope my conviction and harsh incarceration bring you closure.”
However, Maxwell has since appealed her conviction and sentence. Her spokesman said: “Your spirits are holding up well, as you might expect from an innocent woman.”
