Gold Coast Councilor charged with murder: Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden arrested after stepfather found dead after ‘riot’

A Gold Coast councilman has been charged with murder after his stepfather died following a “riot” at his home.
Police were called to a house on Chiffley Pl in Arundel following reports of a “disturbance” just after 3pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services found councilor’s stepfather Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden, 58, unconscious, 7News reported.
Mr Bayldon-Lumsden, 30, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and charged with murder, Queensland Police confirmed in a statement.
“He has since been charged with one murder and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates’ Court today, August 24,” police said.
