Google Salaries Revealed: The tech giant’s US-based employees make an average of $279,802 a year, while software engineers make more than $1.3 million each (and they’re not even the best)

Leaked documents reveal that Google employees in the US are earning whopping six- and seven-figure salaries, while the CEO earns a staggering $226 million.
A company spreadsheet included salaries for 12,000 employees as of 2022, a year in which the exact same number lost their jobs.
While software developers are the highest-earning standard earners at over $718,000, the average employee takes home $279,802 a year.
The data wasn’t a complete list of Google talent, as it only ranged up to level seven out of eleven, meaning some earn far more than reported.

According to leaked information, many of Google’s American employees earn mid to high six-figure salaries, some earning more than $1 million and their CEO a whopping $226 million
The highest-paid among them were software engineers, adding up to $605,000 to their annual bonus income, meaning some earned as much as $1.3 million in 2022.
Some lesser-paid software developers made $100,000 to $375,000 last year.
Google’s low earners are tech operations workers who made just $47,000 in 2022. They say only $1,000 separates them from the average intern insider.
Ahead are the company’s data scientists, whose base salaries start at $120,000 but can climb to $254,000.
However, data scientists received the second most lucrative bonuses at the company, with their annual income rising to $326,000 in some cases.

No salary tops the company’s biggest name, CEO Sundar Pichai, who earned $226 million in 2022
User experience designers, employees in Google’s government affairs and public policy department, researchers, cloud vendors, and program managers all earned over $300,000.
Technical managers were the second-highest paid level seven workers, with salaries of $400,000.
Direct sales team members earned approximately $377,000, while legal advisors earned $320,000.
Nothing beats the company’s biggest name, CEO Sundar Pichai, who earned $226 million in 2022, including $218 million in “other compensation,” according to the report New York Post.

The low earners at Google are the tech operations workers, who made just $47,000 in 2022
Smart Assets Figures released last week show they would be in the top 1 percent in the country at $1.3 million.
Google’s parent Alphabet is cutting 12,000 jobs in January amid a wave of layoffs across the tech sector.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said at the time that the losses affected teams across the company, including recruiting and some corporate functions, as well as some engineering and product teams.
The mass layoffs came just days after rival Microsoft Corp announced it would lay off 10,000 workers and Amazon began laying off its 18,000 workers as the “empire transfer” gripped the world’s largest companies.
The news came at a time of economic uncertainty and promising technology, with Google and Microsoft investing in a fledgling software area known as generative artificial intelligence.
The global layoffs, which took effect immediately in the US, were the latest in a series of cost-cutting measures mirrored across the tech industry.
