Graeme Souness believes Harry Kane is England’s only world-class player and says he is a “huge fan” of the Tottenham striker.
The England skipper scored twice in Spurs’ 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night and has netted 15 goals this season.
It means the 29-year-old is now two away from becoming Tottenham’s record goalscorer and has taken his Premier League total to 198 in 300 games, two more than league record goalscorer Alan Shearer after the same number of appearances .

Graeme Souness says Harry Kane is the only English player who can be described as world class

Statistics saw Souness praising Kane, claiming he was the only Englishman to be described as a world-class player.
“He’s a class. He’s the only English player that I think is truly world class,” Souness said Sky Sports.
“My definition of world class is someone who can go anywhere and be welcomed by any team in the world. I’m not sure if other English players do that.

Kane’s goals meant he is only the second player to score in his 100th, 200th and 300th Premier League appearances
Kane celebrated his 300th game in the Premier League by becoming only the second player after Teddy Sheringham to score in his 100th, 200th and 300th appearances in the competition.
At his presentation, Souness admitted how much he is a fan of Kane, even though he was disappointed with his performances during last month’s World Cup.
“I thought he had a disappointing World Cup, I’m a big fan but I think he had a disappointing World Cup.” Said the former Premier League manager.
“I’ve said before that if England could win then it has to be Harry in form, I don’t think that’s what happened.”

Souness believes Kane had a disappointing World Cup but will lead Spurs’ top-four attacks
The England captain scored twice in Qatar but his tournament came to a shattering end when he missed a crucial penalty against France as England were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
However, Souness says Kane will ultimately make the difference for his club this season and it will be his goals that see Spurs finish in the Premier League’s top four.
“I think if they keep him fit, they’re going to get in the top four just because of him,” he said. ‘Because he’s goals. He’s Mr Goals! You don’t have to play very well to win games when you have Harry Kane on your team.
Tottenham and “Mr. Goals’ will next be in action on Saturday lunchtime when League Two’s Portsmouth meet in the third round of the FA Cup.
