Guests at MGM Resorts properties on the Las Vegas Strip have been locked out of their hotel rooms due to a cyberattack

Guests at MGM Resorts on the Las Vegas Strip were reportedly locked out of their hotel rooms due to a cyberattack.

MGM Resorts has about 48,000 rooms on the Strip. The company’s properties include Mandalay Bay, the Bellagio, Luxor and MGM Grand, among others.

The company said in a statement: “MGM Resorts recently identified a cybersecurity issue affecting some of the company’s systems.” Immediately after discovering the issue, we quickly began an investigation with the assistance of leading third-party cybersecurity experts.

“We have also notified law enforcement and taken immediate action to protect our systems and data, including shutting down certain systems.” “Our investigation is ongoing and we are working diligently to determine the nature and scope of the matter.”
