Harry Kane confirms his desire to be an NFL kicker when he appears on Good Morning America

From one football to another! Harry Kane confirmed his desire to be an NFL kicker during an appearance on Good Morning America in NYC: “It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but it’s something I’d love to do.”

Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has reiterated his interest in becoming an NFL kicker.

The 29-year-old has long expressed a desire to make the transition to a left-wing career once he hangs up his boots.

Speaking to Pro Football Hall of Fame member Michael Strahan at the GMA on Wednesday, Kane said it was a future worth looking at.

“It’s something I’m really keen to explore,” Kane remarked. “I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work; I don’t expect to just go out and score field goals.

“It’s going to be a lot of practice and hard work, but yeah, it’s something I’d love to do.” I’ve been following the NFL for about 10 years now and I love it. So I’d like to try.’

Tottenham’s Kane has been in outstanding form all season for the north London club

Kane has been in attendance at several NFL games in London over the years, including the 2022 thriller Vikings vs. Saints at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

England’s all-time top scorer is a big Tom Brady fan and even watched the Patriots win over the LA Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

‘That is real. “Something I definitely want to try in 10 or 12 years,” Kane said in 2019 via ESPN of his willingness to try kickball.

“It’s about the urge to be the best,” he says. “Can I be the best in the world even if I download a game to my phone?”

“If you play in the Premier League and the World Cup and then play in the NFL, would you be considered one of the greatest athletes of all time?”

Hall-of-Famer placekicker Morten Andersen provided context to Kane’s dreams in the months following Kane’s induction earlier this year.

“They have a hard time getting the ball up because of the initial trajectory of the ball,” he told Mail Sport.

“I’m not saying Harry Kane can’t do it, and I don’t find it ridiculous either – but before we start crowning him the greatest footballer in the world, let’s check that out first.”

“I think he needs to mentally put on a different hat – and first of all, different gear!” Remember, he’s wearing shorts and a shirt, no pads and no helmet.

“It changes things, the precision with which you have to play the ball under a lot of pressure in a very short time – the whole timing aspect, that requires skill.”
