“He said, Jeff, don’t be ridiculous. As an actor, you are asked to do all the things that interest you. Plus you get to tell all these wonderful stories from all these different perspectives, people that are alive,” added Bridges.
“It’s a wonderful job. He’s so right. I’m so glad I listened to him. The family I grew up in was so supportive. My mother, some of you may have met her, she was the best actress around,” he said of his mother, Dorothy Bridges.

“So families, that’s what it all boils down to. I don’t have time to list all of the great experiences I’ve had in filmmaking, but I want to shine a light on two guys who have had a huge impact on my life and career, Peter Bogdanovich and Bob Rafelson,” he said.
Peter, of course, directed Last Picture Show. The great company, PBS producer. When I mention the picture show, I have to mention Lloyd Catlin. He was my stand-in for 70 films. Talk about extended families, he’s certainly in there,” Bridges said.
‘My goodness. I was going to say something else and forgot, and I told them not to put that thing up there, you know. But tell stories. That’s the privilege we actors have,” he said.
