Former First Lady Hillary Clinton is comparing Trump supporters to Nazis, as hundreds of supporters at a recent wild campaign rally in Ohio put their index fingers in the air and “saluted” the former president.

Clinton attended the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Friday and criticized the disturbing hand gesture of many Trump supporters at a Sept. 17 event attended by Trump for GOP Senate nominee JD Vance.

The one-finger salute was eerily reminiscent of the “Seig Heil” salute the Nazis used to address their leader, Adolf Hitler.

“You saw the rally in Ohio the other night, Trump was there ranting and raving for more than an hour, and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised,” she said. ‘I thought, ‘What’s going on?’

Rally organizers, meanwhile, were concerned about the controversial single-digit salute, which has also been linked to the QAnon conspiracy movement.

But a Trump supporter in the crowd raised his stiff arm in the one-finger salute and said the gesture was a proverb used in the QAnon movement that means, “Where are we going?” go, let’s all go,” Yahoo News reported.

The former presidential candidate spoke about her years as a young student trying to figure out how people were attracted to Adolph Hitler.

Clinton asked during the politics and policy event, “ How did this happen? I was watching newsreels and I saw this guy standing up there ranting and raving and people screaming and raising their arms. I thought, ‘What happened to these people?’

Aldoph Hitler, the Austro-German-born leader who came to power between 1933 and 1945, was responsible for the horrific murder and persecution of six million Jews and others during the Holocaust.

In the 2000 book Hitler: 1936-45: Nemesis, historian and biographer Ian Kershaw described Hitler as “the embodiment of modern political evil.”

Speaking at the rally, Trump addressed the crowd while dramatic music was played.

“My fellow citizens, this incredible journey we are on together has only just begun and it is time to speak again about the greatness of our country. We are one movement, one people, one family, and one glorious American nation,” Trump said

A Trump representative called the Qanon speculation a “stupid conspiracy.”

“As usual, weeks before an election, the media works hand-in-hand with the Democrats,” said spokesman Taylor Budowich.

Clinton has frequently taunted the billionaire and his supporters, calling them a “basket of the unfortunate” throughout the campaign.
