Hippo SWALLOWS a two-year-old boy whole…then spits him out ALIVE

A two-year-old boy was swallowed and spat out by a hippopotamus while playing by a lake near his home.

Paul Iga was crushed in a hippo’s mouth just a few hundred yards from the edge of Lake Edward, Uganda, The Telegraph reported.

Luckily, a panicked local, Chrispas Bagonza, witnessed the incident and began throwing rocks at the hippopotamus in an attempt to stop it.

The hippopotamus seemed surprised by this and vomited up the infant – after swallowing half of it – before padding back into the water.

While Paul was injured and taken to a clinic for treatment, he miraculously survived the attack.

It is reported that the boy was taken to a hospital in Bwera but was discharged after being vaccinated against rabies.

In a statement, Uganda Police said: “This is the first incident of its kind in which a hippopotamus has strayed from Lake Edward and attacked a young child.

“It took the courage of a certain Chrispas Bagonza, who was nearby, to save the victim after stoning and scaring the hippopotamus, causing it to free the victim from its mouth.”
