Horrifying moment: A Florida moviegoer is brutally beaten in a “callous attack” after asking a couple to leave their VIP seats

A Florida moviegoer was brutally beaten after being attacked by a man who was sitting in reserved seats.
Jesse Montez Thorton II, 27, was allegedly seen violently attacking 63-year-old Marc Cohen at the AMC Theater in Pompano Beach, Florida. This was a “callous” attack that was recorded in its entirety on another customer’s cell phone.
Cohen was about to watch a movie with his wife when he saw another couple sitting in their assigned seats on July 10.
After politely asking her to move, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said Thorton suddenly became “hostile” toward Cohen’s simple request.
In the footage, Thorton can be seen standing up and intentionally getting in Cohen’s face.

While Cohen was on the ground, he was allegedly beaten by Thorton

Cohen then lost his balance right on the theater steps.
But Thorton wasn’t done yet as he began punching Cohen in the face multiple times.
Shocked theatergoers ran down the steps to Cohen’s aide and tried to separate the two men.
Thorton didn’t stay long and moments later he was seen fleeing the scene along with his date.
In the surveillance camera footage from the theater, he can be seen hurrying towards the exits with his companion.

“I just don’t understand people, how they behave like that – there’s no politeness anymore,” Coehn said Local 10 after the incident.
Cohen said he simply said to Thorton, “Sorry, you’re in our seats.”
“This guy just kept staring at me instead of standing up,” he told the station.
“I said to the people who weren’t apologizing or saying thank you at that point, I said, ‘You can just keep the seats.’
Then, “as I walked away,” he continued, “he said, ‘Run to your wife, little boy.'”
“So I turned around and said, ‘You know I’m not the one who’s a little boy – you took my places and didn’t apologize, or you didn’t say thank you, and I allowed you to keep them.’ .’ .”
“He jumped up, he wanted to fight me, he supported me, I fell over the stairs and as soon as I fell down the stairs it was like a boxer fighting against the ropes, this guy just came at me.”‘, Cohen said NBC6.
“I was on the stairs and he kept hitting my head and I couldn’t get him off me,” he said.
Cohen recounted how several witnesses and his wife tried to stop the man during the attack but were unable to.
“I didn’t think anyone would be stupid enough to actually start a fight like that in the movie,” Cohen said.
Thorton has remained at large for the past two months, but on Thursday police managed to track him down after receiving an anonymous tip and later arrested him in Fort Lauderdale.
Thorton faces one count of aggravated assault and is being held in jail in lieu of $250,000 bail in what police described as a “callous” assault.

Thorton was seen with a bloody and battered forehead and blood-soaked hair

Cohen was also seen with a massive bump on his head after his fall

His shirt and hands were also covered in his own blood
Cohen suffered a broken nose and multiple stitches after suffering a bloody head and face.
Photos taken shortly after the attack show him with a massive dent on his bruised and battered forehead, while his shirt was covered in blood.
He was later taken to hospital for treatment.
“Broward County Sheriff’s Office investigators have been working on this case for months,” said Claudinne Caro.
“The video and information surrounding this reckless attack attracted national and international media attention and led to tips, including an anonymous tip from Broward Crime Stoppers.”
