How many people will play League of Legends in January 2023?

League of Legends has been around for so long that people have always wondered when it will “die”. Despite these constant assumptions that the game is on the decline, League of Legends has consistently been one of the most watched games on Twitch.

With the release of the new season earlier this month, Riot Games shouldn’t have to worry about their game becoming irrelevant anytime soon. All of the new changes have helped increase the excitement for League of Legends among players, and people might be wondering how many people are currently playing the game.

Luckily, there is a website that tracks monthly League of Legends players and peak player count in a single day within the same time period. As of summer 2021, the average number of monthly League of Legends players is around 150 million.

In the last 30 days, League of Legends had more than 151 million active players. Additionally, the peak player count in a single day last month was nearly 14 million. Remarkably, the average monthly player count increased by almost three million in January. This is likely due to the start of the new season and the Lunar Revel Event.

Although the player base fluctuates monthly, League of Legends has been popular and consistent for well over a decade.
