I am infertile and had a threesome with my wife and another man. Then she became pregnant with twins. A few years later I want to disown the children

A man has successfully disowned his twin daughters and proven himself to be “sexually free” after his ex-wife was impregnated during a threesome.

The New Zealander won the court battle earlier this year, but documents relating to the strange case were only revealed by the family court this week.

The court heard the former couple separated about two years ago, but only officially divorced three months ago.

After the divorce, the man wanted to remove his name from the twins’ birth certificate.

Her mother claimed he was trying to avoid any child support obligations, while the man said he wanted to “defend his honor.”

They had previously adopted children together, but the man had had a vasectomy about 12 years before the girls, now teenagers, were born.

At the time the twins were conceived, the ex-couple was regularly having threesomes with another man, believed to be the twins’ biological father.

Her mother told the court that her relationship with the second man was to help her get pregnant – which her ex-husband denied.

“Whether this was done for pleasure or to conceive a child remains a matter of debate, but the fact is that the parties were in this agreement at the time of conception,” Judge Traicee McKenzie said in her ruling NZ Herald Reports.

“After the parties separated, relations deteriorated and this application was made.”

Although they didn’t believe he was the father, the twins took the ex-husband’s last name and his name was listed on the birth certificate – which he wanted removed.

Their mother insisted that her ex-husband be involved in the twins’ lives, taking them on vacation and buying them gifts while the girls called him “daddy.”

In his 2020 will, the man included the twins as discretionary beneficiaries and called them “my children.”

However, the mother admitted that he was not a “practical” father.

The man denied her claims and said he had only vacationed with the girls once and stopped contact with them as soon as the two were separated.

Judge McKenzie found the twins had also made no effort to pursue a relationship with him.

“I have to take into account his rigid, consistent and unshakable views since the time of separation, that he rejected any form of relationship with the girls or that the girls were his own biological children,” she said.

“He made it clear from the start that he didn’t want a relationship with them.”

“…There was no detailed evidence as to the nature of this relationship.” No signs that there was any love or affection expressed between them, as one would have expected between a father and his daughter.

“There were children living in his house.”

The man was banned from paternity and his name was removed from the twins’ birth certificates.

After the verdict, the man told the Herald he had sought the order to “defend his honour”.

“I’m not a family person,” he said.

He explained that the couple had an “unconventional” personal life, with him living in a separate part of the house from his wife and children since 2018.

He added that he didn’t actually participate in the threesome and mostly “just watched” but assumed his ex-wife and the other man were “safe” and using contraception.

“I don’t expect you or anyone to understand, but I was happy with my life,” he said.

‘I have no sexual caution.’ I am sexually free.’
