ImperialHal showcases lethal controller aim assist in Apex Legends

Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Hosen has given fans a glimpse of how much more powerful the controller’s aim assist is in Apex Legends than using a mouse and keyboard. In a recent clip, the pro showed why he made the switch himself.

It’s been a hot debate for some time, with many gamers squabbling over which is better: controllers or mouse and keyboard. Some argue there is minimal difference, others claim one is more broken than the other. But ImperialHal proved that controllers could be the way to go to wreak the most havoc on the field.

ImperialHal posted a clip to Twitter on December 28 captioned only with the controller emoji. In it, we see him taking numerous, accurate shots, most of which are aided by an aim assist.

He uses a wingman and the CAR SMG to damage an approaching Horizon before easily taking out the other enemies once they fall into his line of sight.

It’s clear that controllers have great utility for gamers who can’t quite match the accuracy of mouse and keyboard.

Players took to the comments below the clip to smack the controller’s aim assist as “broken,” saying, “Since Hal switched to the controller, his melee gains have increased and his spray has broken in the aim assist range.”

Respawn doesn’t seem to be bothered by the state of Aim Assist, meaning we’re unlikely to be weakening the feature any time soon.
