The Last of Us Part Remake, titled The Last of Us Part 1, will bring a remastered and improved version of the PlayStation 3-era classic to a new generation of consoles on Friday 2nd September. That date heralds the game’s console release, and the good news for PC gamers is that they’ll eventually get their hands on the much-anticipated remake. The bad news? You will have to wait a little longer than console players. Here’s what you need to know.
When The Last of Us Part 1 launches on consoles on Friday, PC gamers will be left out in the cold. However, Naughty Dog has confirmed that a PC release is in the works and shouldn’t lag too far behind the PS5 release.
The latest news on the PC version comes courtesy of Jonathan Benainous, Naughty Dog’s Senior Environment Texture Artist. When a Twitter user commented on the eventual PC release, Benainous replied, “Glad to hear you’re hyped man! The PC version should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release!”
While this is hardly a firm schedule, it does give hope to PC gamers that they’ll be sneaking around the lavishly remastered environments of The Last of Us Part 1 in the near future.
