Is there a Resident Evil 4 Remake demo?

Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the most anticipated video game releases of 2023. Fans are eager to see if they can get their hands on a demo before purchasing the game in March.

Resident Evil 4 Remake follows Leon S. Kennedy, who has matured since the Raccoon City incident and works as a US agent tasked with rescuing Ashley Graham, the US President’s daughter, who is being run by a cult in Spain was kidnapped. Leon travels to the unnamed village and encounters the Los Illuminados in a new survival horror experience in the franchise. Widely considered a groundbreaking title, the original ushered in a new era for the genre, much like Resident Evil 7 did in 2017.

This is the third Resident Evil Remake to be released in the past four years, following 2019 and 2020’s Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake. Here’s everything you need to know about a potential demo hitting online stores ahead of release.

At the time of writing, there hasn’t been any confirmation that a Resident Evil 4 Remake demo will be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, or PC. However, there is still hope that Capcom will release some sort of demo ahead of time.

Capcom released a Resident Evil 2 Remake demo called “RPD Demo” and a Resident Evil 3 Remake demo called “Raccoon City Demo”. The RE2 Remake demo was released in December 2019, 11 months after the game’s release, but the RE3 Remake demo was released two weeks before this game’s release. So there’s still hope that Capcom might release a teaser for players to try.

Capcom debuted a gameplay demo of Resident Evil 4 Remake, showing the game’s fateful opening encounter between Leon, hordes of villagers, and the Chainsaw Man. Perhaps Capcom will offer this scenario as a short demo for RE fans before moving on to purchasing the title.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on March 24th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
