Isla Fisher takes to the beach with Sacha Baron Cohen after ringing in the New Year in Barbados

She has enjoyed a relaxed start to 2023 on holiday in Barbados.

And Isla Fisher seemed in good spirits as she enjoyed a day at the beach on Thursday, soaking up the sun from the shore while her husband Sacha Baron Cohen enjoyed a boat trip.

The Australian actress, 46, looked effortlessly chic as she stepped out in a scarlet sundress with ruffled sleeves.

She paired the garment with a straw hat and sunglasses and went for a barefoot stroll.

Sacha, 51, opted for a casual ensemble as he paired a plain white tee with a baseball cap.

Isla gave fans a glimpse of her New Year’s celebrations last week when she quipped, “It’s been 2023 for 58 minutes and so far there’s been no new war, no pandemic, no economic crash.”

The couple, who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last month, have been enjoying a sun-soaked getaway during the festive season.

Isla and Sacha met at a party in Sydney in 2002 and married eight years later.

Last year, Isla sweetly revealed that she fell head over heels in love with her husband Sacha when they first met.

She made the admission on The Project in January after host Lisa Wilkinson told her the Ali G-star recently said it was love at first sight for him – but not for her.

“I do not know why [he said that]’he was joking!’ replied the Wedding Crashers star.

“I absolutely loved him straight away. I mean, I knew it was definitely love at first sight,” she added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Isla reflected on the couple having been together for two decades — a rarity in the fickle world of show business.

“I think by Hollywood standards it’s probably 200 years!” she joked. “I have a feeling it’s a golden anniversary or something. Everyone congratulated me.”

“It’s a fun ride. I feel so lucky to have Sacha in my life. Now we have this beautiful family and we got through lockdown together which as you know is not easy for any couple,” Isla added.
