ITV announces new ‘middle-aged’ Love Island spinoff: Network is seeking ‘lively single parents from across the UK who are looking for love’ for a new show
ITV1 has announced its new show, which will be similar to the ever-popular Love Island.

The show will be called The Romance Retreat and will see contestants staying in a luxurious villa to find love.

It appears that the show is very similar to its Love Island concept, however it remains unclear if the winners of The Romance Retreat will win a cash prize at the end of the series.
For the past few weeks, fans have said they want a “middle-aged Love Island spin-off.”
“This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love by spending time in a luxurious retreat where all parents have been nominated by their adult children,” reads the casting announcement.

Producers also gave fans a glimpse of the new mansion for the show, which is a stunning, state-of-the-art abode in a sunny but undisclosed location.
Fans can apply until Friday, March 31st.
It comes after Davina McCall revealed she was “begging” ITV bosses to hire her to host a “midlife” version of the programme.

The presenter and fitness guru was 50 when she split from her husband Matthew Robertston in 2017. She is currently in a relationship with her hairdresser Michael Douglas.
Davina, 55, now wants to help other older singletons find love and said the show was full of “interesting people” who had “lived a life”.
Speaking in a CEO podcast diary, she said she has “no embarrassment or shame in writing an email to a television company or the head of a television company and saying, ‘Have you thought about it?’ As she revealed, she is “literally begging ITV to let me present Midlife Love Island”.

“I could fill a Love Island mansion with middle-aged people with the best backstories you’ve ever heard in your life,” she told host Stephen Bartlett.
“They’ve lived a life — they’re widows, they’re people who’ve been through horrible divorces. They are people who have broken up with someone and decided that they want to try someone of the same gender as them.
“They are such interesting people. I would watch that show.’
Davina, who is currently a judge on The Masked Singer, said ITV was reviewing a similar show and they could consider her as a presenter.
She continued, “I was like, ‘I have to present it, please.’ They said, “We’re looking at something else that’s quite similar, we might consider you for that.”
“Well, if I hadn’t sent them that email in the first place, they might not have thought of me on the other show. “You have to seize opportunities – they never come to you easily. Keep going.’
