It’s significant that Jada shares a photo highlighting her hair as she opens up about her battle with alopecia.
Last month, she showed her 11.4 million Instagram followers how much her hair has grown recently by sharing two side-by-side selfies.
“This hair here is acting like it’s trying to come back,” she captioned her post. “There are still a few trouble spots, but – we’ll see.”
The hair change comes as the mother of two ramps up promotion for her upcoming memoir, Worthy. The book will be published on October 4th.
“It’s an adventure, a search for love and self-worth,” said the Set It Off actress People her memoirs and the accompanying book tour.
She began writing her memoir in December 2021, months before her husband, Chris Rock, slapped her at the Oscars, setting off a maelstrom of bad press and speculation about their marriage.

The Collateral star said she wrote a book because, “So many people feel like they know my journey because of my talk show Red Table Talk.” And they really don’t. “There was so much about my journey that I couldn’t really share in a format like RTT.”
Jada also revealed why she titled her book “Worthy.” “Because the journey itself is worth it.” Every journey. And we’re all worth it as long as we’re in it, you know?
“And I think that so many of us often lose sight of our own self-worth. “I wanted to write about my self-esteem journey in a real way,” she explained.
“And it was a real struggle, and I think that will be the part that will surprise the reader the most.”
