Jay Briscoe dies at 38: Ring of Honor pro wrestler killed in Delaware car crash

Professional wrestler Jay Briscoe died Tuesday at the age of 38 in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware.

AEW owner Tony Khan announced the tragic news on Twitter Tuesday, writing, using the wrestler’s real name: “Sadly Jamin Pugh has passed away.”

“Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he’s been a star on ROH for over 20 years, from the first show to today,” said Khan. “Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH and have reigned as champions to this day. We will do whatever we can to support his family. Rest in peace Jamin.

The news was confirmed by Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who said the accident happened at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
