Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott is officially single again after second divorce

Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife has finalized her second divorce less than two years after marrying a chemistry teacher at her child’s private school.

MacKenzie Scott, 52, has officially split from teacher Dan Jewett, according to court filings signed by a Washington state judge, TMZ reported.

The two wed in March 2021, two years after Bezos was revealed to be having an affair with then-lover Lauren Sanchez, who is now his partner.

Scott and Jewett signed a prenuptial agreement, and Jewett did not contest the divorce.

Scott filed for divorce from Jewett last September, but despite the marriage, it’s not yet known how their $37.5 million Seattle mansion will be divided between them.

Bezos was married to Scott for almost 25 years and they have four children together.

Scott famously gained $36 billion from her split from Bezos in 2019 and is one of the richest women in the world. Since the split, she has donated around $12.8 billion to hundreds of charities.

Bloomberg estimates Scott’s net worth at more than $28 billion.

In March 2021, Scott used the Giving Pledge website to announce her marriage to Jewett, adding his name to a vow to donate the majority of her fortune to charity.

According to the divorce application, the couple married in California.

There are no plans for child support, separate custody of Scott’s four children she shares with Bezos, and the couple did not indicate in the divorce filing filed in Washington state on Wednesday that they had a child together in their brief year together

Jewett’s name was also edited out of a Medium post Scott wrote about her fundraising efforts last year, which first reported on the silent changes.

Jewett reportedly quit teaching at the school last year and found his high-profile presence at the private academy had become a distraction.

Given Scott and Jewett’s penchant for privacy, the full terms of their divorce will likely remain a secret.

Domenic Romano, founder and managing attorney at Romano law firm, noted that it was unusual for anyone of Scott’s assets to have married without a prenuptial agreement.

Scott, who has remained relatively quiet about her overall wealth, reportedly owned three large estates, two in Beverly Hills and one in Seattle, with the billionaire giving away the two California properties to charity last year.
