This comes after it was revealed that Lawrence likely won’t be returning to The Hunger Games.
The star portrayed Katniss Everdeen in the first four films of the dystopian sci-fi film series, but producer Nina Jacobson says her return is contingent on author Suzanne Collins writing a new novel about her alter ego.
Jacobson told Yahoo Entertainment: “If Suzanne has something to say, she will write a book about it.”
“Honestly, as much as I love Katniss, I think her story is complete. And I think Suzanne feels her story is complete.”
She added: “But if that changes and Suzanne wants to say something and it involves Katniss, then I would be thrilled.”
“But really any chance to be back in this world and take the lead with Francis (Lawrence) and Suzanne, I would take it, no matter who it is.”

The franchise returned to the big screen this month with the prequel film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Jennifer expressed her hope that she could return earlier this year.
When asked by Variety about the prospect, the “No Hard Feelings” star replied, “Oh my God – absolutely!” If Katniss could ever come back into my life, it would 100 percent.
“My production partner just clutched her heart.”
Rachel Zegler plays the protagonist Lucy Gray Baird in the prequel and director Francis Lawrence explained that she is the “anti-Katniss”.
The filmmaker told Empire magazine: “Katniss was an introvert and a survivor.” She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say she was asexual. Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality openly, (and) she is truly a performer.”
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes hits theaters on November 17th.
